CAT HEAD
Our cat Preston used to just love to burrow into the dogs bed and occationally stick his head out. Ironically, this is supposed to be a chew proof bed but as you can see our dogs just laugh at that.

MARCH OF THE HARPOONERS
Mystic Seaport - Mystic CT - Now let me ask you a question, would you like to meet these guys in a dark alley? The term "Going Medieval on someone" seems to fit here. Actually, these are workers at the Mystic Seaport after a whale boat demo.

HORSE CHESTNUT?
Stonington, CT - While I was in Stonington I saw this tree which I thought might be a Chestnut. It looked in bad shape, the leaves were starting to wilt and the nuts look like they had seen better days. When I got home and did some research I noticed that the leaves did not match. The closest thing I could find was Horse Chestnut but I think that only grows in Europe. Can someone identify this tree? Anyone...anyone?

BEAVERS IN LITCHFIELD
Litchfield, CT - I was driving through "Whites Woods" a nature preserve in Litchfield when I noticed something making waves in the river. I stopped and saw this big beaver swimming. I took a few photos and then I noticed this little beaver swimming down the river. Originally I though it was a muskrat it was so small.

SUNNY LEAVES
I took this photo last week while walking in the woods. I just loved how the sun was shining through the leaves. When I look at the photo full size it is almost like having a tunnel of leaves with the sun at the end.

BENCH WITH A VIEW
I was at the Capt.Nathaniel B. Palmer House and I followed a trail and found this bench over looking the water. It looked like a great place to just chill out. Only thing that has to be done is to trim out some bushes for a better view.

ROADSIDE ARRANGEMENTS
On the way to my nieces graduation party I stopped to pick up a flower arrangement for her. Five dollars..cheap! Hey, it's the thought that counts and they are just as fragrant as the expensive flower shop, maybe more, they're fresh.
My brother asked me if I stopped off at the cemetery and picked up the flowers...every one's a comedian.

WE GOT YELLED AT!
Dogs on leashes NOW.
Today I was walking the dogs in Granville State Forest and we were stopped by the Forest Supervisor and I was told that because I did not have my dogs on a leash that I could be fined $50; luckily I was let off with a warning. I guess I have been lucky, I've been going there for six years and this it the first time I've seen him. First let me say I completely understand why, some people don't like dogs or they can knock someone over, etc. The reason I go to that forest with the dogs is hardly anyone uses it because they basically don't allow much of anything. They have signs posted that these following things are not allowed, No Swimming, NO PICNICKING, No Vehicles, No Camping, No Fires, and they don't plow the road in the winter, oh, and now I know that dogs have to be on a leash no longer than 10 feet and if they poop in the woods, you have to pick it up. This is not some park in town where many people frequent, it is way out in the woods down a dirt road. Oh well, I guess we won't be going there either.

LONELY FISHERMAN
I photographed this fisherman in Stonington CT. I think the trees look kind of exotic, I believe this gentleman is Asian, so you can imagine that this could be off the coast Thailand. (Or do i just have a vivid imagination?)

BEAR POOP
This goes under the category of, "He will photograph anything". I was walking the dogs today and almost stepped in this pile of bear scat. I wonder where those berries are from? They look like cultivated blueberries, I guess he must have been raiding the farm down the road.

THE HORSE AND THE FLAG
I was on another road trip today somewhere around Mystic CT when I spied this barn with this huge flag on it. Under the flag there just happened to be a horse peeking out of the barn.

OLD FASHIONED WATER PUMP
This water pump was at the Chester on Track Festival. It was one of the displays of old machines. From the sound of it, it had one piston, just chugging away.

TWO MODES OF TRANSPORT
Salem, MA - I took this photo but was hesitant about posting it, it may not be the most flattering for the driver of the carriage. Anyway, I just happened to catch two unique modes of transport in one shot. The real reason I posted this photo is the cool reflectors on the horses front legs. I am not sure I have ever seen that.
