Bird Over Water

I just need to get something posted so here is a nice photo of a Great Blue Heron flying over the water.

Disappointed

While in the Burlington, VT area I kept on seeing these signs for Creemees. Expecting to find some local treat,I checked out what a creemee was and was disappointed to find out it was just soft server ice cream; not even some fancy flavors, just vanilla and chocolate. Oh well, at least I know what a creemee is.

The Elk on the Trail Monument

Florida, MA - Mohawk Trail(Rte. 2) - This monument was erected by the Elks to honor Elks that lost their lives in World War I.


Plaque on the stone,


In back of the Elk is this time capsule to be opened in 2023.

Strolling of the Heifers - Last Post

The flys follow the cows to clean up the, um fertilizer. They put on quite a show.

Strolling of the Heifers - After the Parade

Brattleboro, VT - After the parade there was a fair with various booths and food.


The mobile American Flatbread Pizza oven. I had these flatbread pizza before and they are great. If I am not mistaken, this group is from Burlington, VT; that is where I had them...yum!


Around the grounds were these Waste Stations where they promote recycling and composting. These two kids were manning this station with their mother.


These three kids were in a milk chugging contest put on by Mount Snow. I was in one of these and won a pint glass...cool.

Strolling of the Heifers - More Stuff

Elf girl, this is the daughter of a women I was standing next to watching the parade.


The parade is not just for girls, here is a team of oxen pulling a cart.


Here is a nice white matched pair of oxen.


This is the Ben and Jerry's Flipped out Truck to promote their new product the "Flipped Out Sundae".


This is the Flipped Out Sundae; they were passing them out for free after the parade. Of course you know I jumped in that line. The sundae has fudge on the bottom, Ice Cream in the middle and what looked like brownie crumbs on the top(I don't remember all the ingredients, all I know that it was good). You flip it over on a plate and on the bottom of the cup is a perforated hole and a cardboard disk. Yo poke your finger in the hole a push the ice cream out and voila, a Flipped Out Sundae.

This fairy woman was busy sprinkling everyone with fairy dust.


This red nosed girl looks like she is really enjoying herself; I think she was on a float.


At the end of the parade was a wagon with this guy, I think his name is Alfred. Everyone seems to know of him; that is all I really know. I can tell you one thing, he was really eating up the attention!

Strolling of the Heifers

Brattleboro, VT - Pamplona has the Running of the Bulls, Brattleboro has the Strolling of the Heifers. The Strolling of the Heifers is put on to educate the public on the importance of sustainable local agriculture and how we should preserve the local farming families. Through this event, which has been going on since 2002 money is raised to promote the importance of local agriculture and to give microloans to local farmers.

So as the say, On with the Show.

The heifers are on a stroll down the street, it looks like the one out front is no Moooood (I couldn't resist)for a stroll.
