NEW ENGLAND SPORTS FANS

Western Massachusetts - I was driving down the road an I saw "Go Red Sox" painted on the side of this garage.

Just down the road, his neighbor was also a sports fan.

His neighbor had the New England Patriots logo painted on his garage also. I must admit it looks a little frighting.

SNOWY BARN

I was on my way home today, camera at the ready, and this barn caught my eye. Today we had one of those wet snows where it sticks to everything. So as you can see the trees in the background are all covered.

CHRISTMAS CANDLES

Newport, RI - This old colonial house is all ready for Christmas with the candles in the windows. I prefer this understated look myself. Flashing colored lights surronding the house is not my style.

WHITE HORSE TAVERN - NEWPORT RI

Newport, RI - This is said to be the oldest tavern in America. William Mayes Sr. obtained a tavern license in 1687 and opened this tavern that was once a private home. Mayes was the father of a famous pirate who succeeded his father as innkeeper. The tavern was a meeting place for the Colony's General Assembly, Criminal Court, and City Council. Those members dined there and charged their meals to the public treasury.
