SOPHIE HAS GONE TO THE LIGHT
Our dog Sophie passed away today. She had just turned 11 a few weeks ago. She had been battling cancer for the last year or so and I guess it finally caught up with her. She was the sweetest dog you could ever have and she will be really be missed. The photo below is one I took about five years ago and one that I hoped I never had to post. But no one lives forever; I really think it symbolizes God's light shining on her; I know she is by God's side now. Godspeed Sophie...we will miss you.
This is my wife's favorite photo of Sophie.

Birds
I took a photo of these birds in my backyard this week. Sorry for the quality I wasn't going to post them but I figured bad photos are better than no photos.
This guy is the reason I trotted out through the snow to take a photo. He is a Pileated Woodpecker, they are big, about the size of a crow. I don't see many of these in this area.
This is a Robin. It is said that they are the first sign of Spring; well this dispells that myth. It was 15 degrees when I took this photo; yesterday it was 7 below zero.

Deer Tracks
I took the "boys" out for a romp today in the woods and due to the hard icy snow with just a coating of powdery snow, animal tracks showed up nicely. Here are some deer tracks that we saw on our walk.
Here you can see where a deer was walking to the woods.
A nice closeup of the tracks.

Breakfast with Santa 2008
Granville, MA - The Granville-Tolland Lion's Club has a "Breakfast with Santa" every year. Here are some photos of the pancakes from that day.
(Note: I am going to try to post more than I have in the past few months. I have not been traveling much so I will be posting some photos I have taken but not posted)
Small pancakes with a side of bacon.
That's one BIG pancake...are you hungry?

Hamburger Crows
I was sitting in the car waiting for my wife to come out of the store and noticed one of these crows pecking at a white piece of paper. I then saw that he was after a hamburger. Then another crow came in and stole the hamburger from him. The original crow then grabbed a piece and flew off (see above). A minute later a seagull came to grab the burger from the second crow...the modern rules of the jungle.
