Sandisfield Historical Society Fair

Sandisfield, MA - I went out for a ride with my boys, my two dogs, and ran across this fair. The Sandisfield Historical Society Fair is held every year they last weekend in September. It is one of the smaller fairs but a fair none the less.

Inside the historical society building are items from a church that burned a hundred years ago. Only a few items were able to be salvaged before it all went up in flames.

Below is the quilt being raffled off to benefit the Congregational Church in town. I bought some tickets so wish me luck.

Bread Euphoria

Haydenville, MA - Behind the nondiscript entrance is Bread Euphoria. Anyone who reads my blog knows how I love bakeries. Inside is a small area where you can enjoy breakfast or lunch. On Fridays and Saturdays they make pizza. But the big draw for me is the bread. I picked up a loaf of Three-seed bread, a round loaf of whole wheat sourdough with millet, flax, and sunflower seeds; the sunflower seeds were on the top of the loaf also. As we like to say, "it had lots of debris in it"; just the way we like it. My wife and I made short work of that(full disclosure - mostly me). Bread Euphoria makes use of as many locally grown products and organic as they can; whenever possible they use locally grown wheat. Yes, you heard that right Massachusetts grown wheat(I will have to look into that).

This is a photo behind the counter, the woman to the left is, Geri Pollard. She and her husband Mark are the owners. Check out their website for more information. (on their website, doesn't Mark look like Penn Jillette from Penn and Teller?)

BREAKFAST WITH SANTA

Kitchen's Ready

Griddle's Ready

Early Diners are here.

Santa at the ready

Granville, MA - A few weeks ago the Granville - Tolland Lions Club put on a "Breakfast with Santa". A good part of the population in the area (small towns) shows up for this event. To have all you can eat pancakes, sausage, bacon, coffee, and juice. Served with REAL maple syrup donated from Maple Corners farm. Children of all ages can have their photo taken with Santa. My apoligies to Santa's helpers, the photo was too blurry.

WE'VE BEEN "OUTTED"

Granville, MA - As a fund raising event in town the people from the "Fireworks Fund" plop this outhouse on your front lawn and you pay a "fee" to have it removed. It is a very unique way to raise money. I hope some people in town don't get upset when this shows up on their lawn. (They actually called us to ask first, but I don't think that is what they orginally were going to do). I guess it would make a great place to hang out when waiting for the school bus.

FIRST CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH - LEE MA

Lee MA - I like the way the sky looks with the church. The church is on the green in the center of Lee, MA.
