Me-Oh-My-Pie Shop

Red Hook, NY - On our trip to New York state we were advised to go to this pie shop in Red Hook. The pie was awesome, but we were in late and most of the pies were sold. My wife and I each had a delicious slice of Chocolate Mousse pie.
As you can see from my shirt, I like Pie, well...just about any baked good. I guess that is why I am "Doughy" myself.

New England Photos Extra - A Fork in the Road

Rock City, NY - Anyone who wants to take Yogi Berra's advice, "When you come to a fork in the road take it", would have a problem taking the 31 foot fork in Rock City, NY. According to the back of the fork where a newspaper article and a Ripley's Believe It or Not cartoon are taped(see below)it was built by Stephen B, Schreiber as a joke.
The fork is at the intersection of Rts. 308 and 199 in the Rock City Hamlet in the town of Milan, New York. As I said above, he put it there as a joke on January 2, 2000, never thinking that it would be allowed to stay there but no one said anything and it has been there over 12 years now.

THE CANDY LADY OF ALBUQUERQUE

Albuquerque, NM - Never one to pass up a candy store, we stopped into "The Candy Lady" , which is just outside "Old Town",to see what she had, which was quite a bit. Of course I had to get the obligatory photo.

The outside of the building is covered with all kinds of foliage. I wonder if that keeps the chocolate from melting in the desert heat?

Hey...isn't this a blog about New England? Yes it is but I have been very busy with work and traveling and so I haven't done much photographing around here. Sorry, but for the next few days please enjoy some of the photographs I've taken in other parts of this country.
