White Crested Ducks

Camden, ME - I saw these ducks with the funky 'do floating around in a small stream below a walking bridge in Camden, Maine.
I looked them up and they are called Crested Ducks. They have deformed heads and I guess that is why they have this crest. From the Wikipedia article, it says that 25% die before hatching due to their brain being exposed.
