OLD ST. ANDREW’S PARISH CHURCH

Bloomfield, CT – This is the oldest Episcopal Parish in Hartford County. The first meetings were held in private homes as early as 1732. The St. Andrew’s Society was founded in 1740. The first church was erected in 1740 – 1742. The present church was completed in 1808 on a site in the Duncaster District and moved to the present site in 1828. The Glebe (land owned by the church) contained about 60 acres.

Info: Sign in front of the church.

I might add that this church was in a wonderful area; surrounded by trees and just a few houses in the area. Posted by Picasa
