I love Newport, but not for the reasons you might think. It's not the mansions I go for, it's the wonderful Colonial section near the water. It's filled with houses built in the 18th century and if you go at night, it's quiet and magical and takes you back to another time.

Rhea - Yes, I agree but I would be remiss without a photo of a mansion or two. The older section of town was very nice.
