FORMER WEST CORNWALL TRAIN STATION

West Cornwall, CT - This is the former West Cornwall Train Station. It now houses the Guild of St. Francis Thrift store, to suport the Guild of St. Francis pet refuge center. The other side of the building looks like it may be a apartment. Just in back of the station was a cafe that my friends and I used to go to party. It was called, "Mother's Cafe";this was in the time that 18 year olds could drink. Saturday nights the loggers used to bring their daughters down to party; needless to say a good time was had by all. I remember two bands that used to play here and Beverly's in Bantam, one was called "Harmony Grits" and the other was "The Cobble Mountain Band", GREAT MUSIC!

I love this picture. The curved railroad beside the station is great.

Nice picture, I had all but forgotten about Mothers cafe, I used to play there in a band called The Dudleytown Band. As I recall it was run by two women who fashioned themselves witches!

Mothers Cafe was run by Verne Henshell and Sondra. A wonderful place to go chill and listen to good music. As well as Cobble and Harmony I know that Michael Joyce (Irish singer) and others played there as well.
