Autumn Kayak

Today we took a short kayak trip to take in the fall colors.

Kayaking on the Winooski River

Richmond, VT - I took my kayak out on the Winooski River for a little paddle. The river was shallow and in some spots it was only a few inches deep; the kayak is sitting on the bottom in the photo.



There is a sign for you, "Stop Rock Snot". There is an invasive weed in the river called Didymo. You have to take measures so you do not spread it to other waterways.

Otis, MA - I took the kayak out a few days ago on the Otis Reservoir and took this photo of a Great Blue Heron fishing on the side of the river.

Granville Forest Kayakers

Granville, MA - I was in Granville State Forest taking some photos and short videos. I was on the side of the stream when I looked up and saw four kayakers on their way down. Unfortuately, I didn't have time to even think what I was doing but I did get a short video and a few stills.

Simsbury, CT - Last Sunday I took the kayak out on a flat section of the Farmington River. It was a very hot a humid day and a quick dip afterward was very enjoyable.

A DAY ALONG THE BANTAM RIVER

Litchfield, CT - Today my wife dropped me off at the Bantam River in Litchfield to do a little kayaking while she had to do some things a few towns away

There were a few people on the river with their kayaks. These two women were out enjoying the day.


No these people are not walking on water, they are walking over the swamp on a wooden walkway. This part of the Bantam River and this pond, Little Pond, are part of the White's Woods Conservation area.



Hot Babes
As I passed these women while they taking a break one of them asked if I would like a pretzel, I explained that I had to get back to the pick up spot where my wife would be waiting for me. Just as I passed them I saw a few bluebirds, so I stopped to see if I could get a photo. They flew away before I was able to get the photo so I went back and asked if they would not mind if I took their photo. One of them said that if I was late just tell your wife that I stopped to take a photo of some hot babes...that is exactly what I did.

NEW KAYAK

I finally broke down and spent the money I had been tightly holding on to; I bought myself a kayak. This is a photo from said kayak on the Otis Reservoir. I have a feeling that there will be a lot of photos taken from this kayak. The cool thing is that it has a watertight hatch to store the camera in.

Collinsville, CT - These are just some of the kayaks for sale at the Collinsville Canoe and Kayak during their semi-annual sale. I got there about 10:30am and about half the canoes and kayaks were sold; the sale started at 9am. I had just sold my whitewater kayak the week before(I hadn't used it in years) and was looking for something to use on calmer waters; I didn't get anything this time...maybe next year.
