FORMER HITCHCOCK CHAIR COMPANY

Riverton, CT - The former Hitchcock Chair Company lies vacant since Hitchcock went out of business a few years ago. I've also noticed that the closing has had an effect on the rest of the village. People don't come around like they did when the store was open. The Sweet Shop is now Rose's Kitchen, the General Store has changed hands, and the Hitchcock Museum is now a Glass Blowing Studio.

OLD FACTORIES RUSTY WATER TOWER

Housatonic, MA - I passes through Housatonic last weekend on a road trip and stopped to take a photo of these old factories. I am still predicting that Housatonic is going to become a spot where people will go to visit the galleries and shops; just how long it will take is the question. I believe some of the old factories are being turned into galleries and studios. So you people visiting Stockbridge, get away from the crowds and take a short ride to Housatonic.

FACTORY ON THE FARMINGTON

Collinsville, CT - Many of the factories of old were located on water to run the equipment and get rid of waste. This factory is located in Collinsville Connecticut and if nothing else makes a great b/w photo.

PLAYFUL OR CREEPY?

I can't quite decide if this photo is playful or creepy. These plastic horses were hung up outside a factory; I think the intent was a fun thing to look at but outside an old factory changes the perspective. I do find the photo fascinating and have it as the background on my PC.

What do you think about the photo?
