COLEBROOK GENERAL STORE - Reopened

Colebrook, CT - The Colebrook General Store is finally open after a long closure.

Addison Todd is the new owner, he is a chef and will be concentrating on making sandwiches and baked goods. I saw that their are breakfast sandwiches on the menu. In addition, on Friday's he will be making pizzas. But, at this time, you need to call early in the week and order what kind of pizza you would like and then call on Friday and tell him when you would like to pick up your pizza. Here Addision is getting ready to make some fresh Butternut Squash Soup.

People familar with the Colebrook Store know of the big eclairs. Addison will continue with that tradition. In addition, he also makes a smaller version for people with a smaller appitite. At the time I stopped by the large ones were all sold out and a few small ones were all that were left.

After a good sales day, this is all that was left in the bakery case.

The current menu.

The blackboard menu with today's specials.

A sitting area in the front of the store, in addition, there are other eating areas in the store.

Can't find a phone # for this place anywhere. The former # is disconnected and there is no listing on YELLOWPAGES.COM

We stopped in a week after the store reopened. It's a great spot for a break on our bicycle rides. Welcome back Colebrook General Store. Pete, Thursday-Friday riders

Sooo happy to hear the old store is reopened! And the eclairs used to be top notch so will have to stop in and check out for myself!

I was watching CNN (I live in CA.) and they mentioned the coming Nor'easter and Colebrook! As a child we rented a summer house there and would walk to the General Store for candy, then run by Mr. Stots (not sure of the spelling). They had fairs on the corner church front lawn where my mother bought quilted rugs! One year there was a terrible flood that washed half our backyard away and half of the neighboring town of Winstead, they were afraid a nearby dam might break. This was the little brook I learned to swim in! I have wonderful memories of a beautiful place.
