TRAILING ARBUTUS

Here is an unidentified flower I came upon while out on a walk. I am usually pretty good with identification of flowers but this one has me stumped.

Thanks to my sister-in-law this flower was identified. It is Trailing Arbutus aka Mayflower or Ground Laurel.

Hi Bill -- The woodland flower in your photo is "trailing arbutus". Very fragrant. The trick is to get close enough to smell it! -- Fig

Mayflowers are abundant and beautiful this time of year. Nice shot!
