HARTFORD ROCK ART

Hartford, CT - In 1977, artist Carl Andre was hired to create artwork in Hartford. What he did was place 36 rocks in 8 rows. As I remember it created quite the controversy. Most people did not think that rows of rocks were art. You decide.

OK, I'll give my opinion. NO, this is not art. In some places you get parking lots closed in by rocks like that, no one would think of calling it art.
FRAUD!

this is art, most definitely...I could look at Rocks like these longer than I could look at some paintings!

But then, you know how much I love Rock!

Mr Andre may be a better rock artist than oh say Liberace. But I bet Liberace was better landscaper.

this isn't art! pushing boulders around with a machine is fun but not art. Now start chiseling them into something and that is art. stack two on top of each other and you have poor mans art. spread them around and you have a bunch of rocks here and there. not art!!!!!
