VIEW FROM ALCATRAZ

I took this photo walking around Alcatraz; what a great view. It must have been hard looking out on such beauty seeing what you can not have. Posted by Picasa

part of the punishment i'm sure..to see all that freedom at your fingertips and not be able to reach it..

I have a great shot from the Cafeteria, looking out through the clouded and broken glass at the city. The picture reminds me of your sentiments. Where yours points out nature just out of reach, mine reminds me of being taunted by humanity and civilization just out of reach.
