STOVE FROM NORMAN ROCKWELL PAINTING

Great Barrington, MA - This is one of my obscure posts. This is the stove that was used as a "prop" for Norman Rockwell's painting, "Marriage License". Marriage License appeared on the June 11, 1955 issue of the Saturday Evening Post. The stove is on display in an antique store in Great Barrington, MA. It was lent to Rockwell by the McNutt family who had a farm in Stockbridge, MA. In 1972 they sold the farm and the current owner bought the stove and kept it all this time.
