COLLINS AXE, ADZ, AND MACHETE COMPANY

Collinsville, CT – My wife and I stopped at Collinsville yesterday and I took some photos, what else; I will be displaying those over the next few days. I also decided to stretch out the fall foliage some since this year was not that good due to the rain and wind that knocked most of the leaves.

This is the Collinsville Axe, Adz, and Machete Company (an adz is used to shape wood like hand hewn beams). This building was built around 1905 and the town grew up around it. The building now houses some small companies and an antique mall. The Collins Company arguably makes the best machete in the world. I helped my father do some surveying growing up and all we used were Collins machetes. Posted by Picasa
