BLACKIE’S HOTDOGS

Cheshire, CT – This is the legendary Blackie’s hotdog stand. It is just over the Waterbury line. Blackie’s has been around for many, many years. I think its heyday was before the I-84 highway was built; now “84” brings the cars just out of sight of the restaurant. It is a place where you order hot dogs and all they yell is the number; 3, 10, 7, 1, to tell the cook how many to put in buns. All the hotdogs are with skin on and don’t forget to try the hot relish.

Mmmm, Blackie's. I love the Hummel hot dogs that they have there. Blackie's and Al's Hot Dog Stand (in nearby Naugatuck) are two of my favorite places for dogs.
