THE ICE CREAM MAN
Southford, CT - It must be summer 'cause here comes the Ice Cream Man! I remember the ice cream man coming around my grandmother's house. Of course, we immediately asked for money. They used to have about six bells all attached to one piece of metal and they would all ring in unison. Today they have some horn blowing Cucaracha or some lame song like that; oh for the old days. Unfortunately, I lived out in the sticks and if we wanted ice cream we had to drive to the store.

Being a clumsy child, I always seemed to lose my dime (okay, I'm older than dirt) in the grass while waiting for the ice cream man.
We don't have ice cream trucks down here anymore. Now it's mostly those little push carts manned my illegal immigrants. And they tend to get robbed and shot a lot.
I guess I'll keep buying my ice cream at the store and just remember the good-old-days.
We have ice cream trucks that go through my neighborhood all the time. There are some days I can't get the song out of my head, and it' amazing how a 4 year old catches on to the concept of an ice cream truck SO quickly!
The Ice Cream man never comes down my street anymore, I wonder why?
Oh, I know. Because he slept with my friend Chan's mom and her dad's a huge NRA fan.
